Using crankbaits for summer time fishing works great but you don’t have to put them away and try something different for ice fishing for Walleye. Using the rattling lipless crankbaits for giant walleye fishing is a lot of fun and works great for bringing in the monster walleye. Check out the video for some great tips on landing more fish.

I was jig fishing at a river in New York during late spring or early summer (mid June, 2015). I was jigging swimbait jigs around a dam for walleye and smallmouth bass. I ended up catching walleye, bass, and carp, and I lost one or two big smallmouth bass (master angler length).
This is one of many videos in the Lure Fishing series — watch others for triple-digit numbers of fish, trophy fish, the tips and techniques I pick up along the way, and more!
This 9 part seminar, presented by Seth Burrill of the Angler’s Xperience, will help you understand the walleye and how to become more efficient at catching them. If you love walleye fishing this seminar is definitely for you.
Got out for the last hour of daylight earlier this week on the upper delaware river, wasn’t expecting to catch anything until maybe after dark but on my 4th cast of the evening got bit, and ended up catching 2 walleyes and lost a couple fish as well. Xraps got the most bites.. zoom fluke got one fish too. Thought for sure the bite would be better after dark but fished into the night until about 7pm and it went stone cold once the sun went down. The February heat wave is making things interesting around here… Water temps are rising fast and the fishing is more typical of late march or early april than February.
The Delaware River is known to produce Walleyes of 10-13lbs making it a world class fishery at times, however these fish I found do not portray that.. Perhaps I will do some more searching for better walleye fishing later this Winter/Spring
People in Minnesota are obsessed with walleye; besides being the state fish, it’s also on nearly every restaurant menu.
