Bass Fishing – What Lures Go with a Medium Heavy Fishing Rod
When bass fishing, it’s not always easy to match the correct rod with the lures you want to use. There are so many choices of lures that it can get overwhelming. Here’s some tips and techniques that will simplify the process.
Bass fishing in winter is never easy, but at least in Texas we still can fish year round during the winter. Today I’m bass fishing with my friend Brandon fro largemouth bass using some winter fishing techniques. I’ll explain some tips and techniques on the best lures to fish for bass during the winter and how to get more bites. Fishing grubs, finesse worms, and Texas rigged worms working them slowly worked well and we caught some of our best fish using crankbaits. All of the crankbait bites were very sluggish and the bass barely had the bait. This is a sign that it is getting more difficult for the largemouth to chase down the moving baits. It’s best to throw some pauses into your retrieves in order to give the bass a chance to grab it. Despite the tough water conditions, we still managed to catch some nice bass. Next, we are heading to a lake about 3 hours from here to see if there are any bass still in the shallows on a lake that has a lot of docks. See you on the next trip Fishing Freaks!

CATCHING BASS IN FRONT OF THE GAME WARDEN!!! (WINTER BASS FISHING)
Going out on a brutal and blustery day to do some winter bassfishing in Maryland had me questioning my sanity! It wasn’t bad at home 40 minutes South of this mountain reservoir, but I was greeted by 15 degree colder temps & freezing wind chills in this valley. Nevertheless, the blade bait strikes again and helped me land 2 nice bass in less than an hour! The highlight was actually catching one right in from of the Game Warden right after he asked to see my fishing license.
Bass Fishing a DRAINED LAKE – Rodman Reservoir – SMC Episode 12:13
Exposed Trees and Lake Bottom for miles makes this one of the most interesting places I have ever bass fished. Glenn Browne and I will show you how to approach a lake or river that is in a drought or draw down. Rodman Reservoir is one the top producing lakes in Florida for giant bass. The State has drawn the water down 16′ feet help dry up the bottom witch has made this an awesome place to fishing if you don’t tear up your boat.
River bass fishing is one of my favorite ways to fish. Bass are usually shallow around cover and frog fishing and fishing a jig are primary techniques. In this winter fishing vlog, I’m joined by my friend Grant and our river largemouth bass fishing guide Carson. We are fishing the Colorado river located in central Texas. Carson’s jet engine bass boat is set up perfectly for fishing the shallow backwater areas that can’t be accessed by a traditional fiberglass bass boat. After a series of warm night, the water surface temps have arrived in the lower 60’s, making some of the bass start to move up into shallow backwater ponds to begin spawning. We are flipping jigs and casting chatterbaits and spinnerbaits around the banks and catching bass very shallow. Grant casts into an old pond an immediately gets a few bites. We cant access the pond by water, so Carson uses the aluminum jet boat to launch the boat into the other side of the pond. Once we get into the pond, you get some quality bites and end up catching a big bass on a topwater frog. It turn out it was the same largemouth bass that Grant had break his line just a few minutes earlier! We had to work for our bites which is typical for pre spawn bass fishing just before the start moving on beds, but we still caught some nice bass and saw some cool wildlife.
I fished this river is a kayak a few years back and it was work out!
Bass fishing in the backwoods of east Texas is one of my favorite places to fish because it’s away all the city drama. In this vlog, lunkerstv and I are going bass fishing on Lake Sam Rayburn to try and target some pre spawn fish. The fishing this time of year can be very tough due to cold fronts and constant changing conditions. When fishing is really tough, I think it’s important to keep a positive attitude and have fun. The more relaxed you are, the better decision you will make on the water. We are also camping out in this vlog, so it’s a mix of bass fishing, fun, and camping.
